hey guys i was checkin' out the TONE WIZARD and for an ADLER/ASH body and a MAPLE neck with a FLOYD ROSE it says CC/TB-11. i have never played one of these but my tone is 80's hard rock/metal-70's crunch/blues . my favorite tones are from john sykes/gary moore/george lynch/scorpions/thin lizzy/michael schenker/ect. would a CC put me in the that ballpark? thanks scott

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

The CC is very midrange heavy but it's also pretty compressed and I think you might do well with that pickup. I love mine... It's nice and crunchy with a lot of mids and compression but IMO still has enough treble to cut and a solid enough bottom to not mud out under high gain.

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

Don't stick only to what the tone wizard suggests........i would also consider the JB.

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

Have you tried the Screamin' Demon? If you like George Lynch and/or Dokken, I think that's the pickup he mainly uses or at least he used to.

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

tying to get something other than a JB since all of my guitar have or had one in it . i like the DEMON but i am a little worried about it in an adler guitar w/maple neck and fretboard ie too bright! i tried the C5 and i didn't like it that much not enough mids i guess . so i came up with my short list
JB would like to try something different
CC never tried one
SCREAMIN DEMON worried about output and it may be too bright in this guitar

I'd say The CC will put you at homeplate sitting on a Fastball ready to knock
one outta the Ballpark:D I have a CC in a Nato wood PRS Knockoff with a
wilkingson bridge. Here's a link to the Tips & clips section. I did a Gary Moore
style Blues jam with the CC-(Guitar Port)SLO-100 sim.

cool thanks how are the harmonics!!!!!!! and does it sing?

KILLER harmonics, and this pup will sing for days and days!!! i had a guitar that was a tad on the bright side, not only did the CC warm this guitar up but it has NEVER sounded better. Some people find it to be too compressed but I really dig it, Like I said it has tons of mids and it's smooth like butter!

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

It's in the top 3 of best sounding Duncan bridge humbuckers, IMO. The C-5 is bass/treble, the JB is accentuated high mids, and the CC is accentuated low mids.
That's how I see those 3.

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

that a cool way of lookin' at it gearjoneser! i think i'm gonna try it and see what happens . worst case i can go back to the JB!!!!!!!!

Re: tone wizard say CUSTOM/CUSTOM TB-11?

Yeah, the CC is uber-creamy with the mids. A teriffic, versatile pickup. You'll feel right at home with it if you think the C5 doesn't have enough mids.
