Back on topic to the OP, anyone else really dig the Yamaha THRs?
I've been a huge fan of Tubes, mainly Mesa and Fender, but the THRs are really changing my perspective on SS amps. I've had some great SS amps in the past but always preferred my tone from my Tube amp. Now though, I'm reconsidering that position.

I came close to buying one. I liked everything feature wise about the amp but never bumped into one in the wild. I could always buy one online and return it if I didn't like it. But that is not my style. Right now the JC120 is giving me all the SS vibe I need.

The THR10C I have is perfect for my (now old) apartment. Looking at the THR100HD, really dig the tones.

I don't know what the hell is going on in this thread or why it feels like I just found myself at some kind of wet t-shirt contest where they're using piss instead of water, but I would like to point out that the absolute best line of that song starts at 1:04

Its kinda like women.... You ask, how the heck does this relate??
Here: someone that has had implants, has a nice bust.. (Modeling amps). But in my mind I still know it isn't the real deal. Real close, and still very pleasant, but I cant help but still appreciate natural.. (tubes). Even smaller ones EL84s, still feel natural...
I am very glad tech has gotten better and it is much harder to tell the diff. Especially now with modeling technology.
with modeling, they true to emulate the nuances/response of tubes.

I like the small THR practice ones and earlier this year when I had some extra cash I nearly pulled the trigger on the 100 watt HD. After checking one out at a store, I thought it had fantastic hard rock/rock tones but was'nt so sure about the metal tones.. (maybe I needed more time to get the hang of dialing them in, but it's something I've noticed with the smaller dark green THR X or whatever it's called as well...they're a bit thin or over-compressed/lack weight or something..maybe I need to mess around with differen tube options & all that other stuff..'cause they sound fine for metal in the youtube demo's lol).
I ended up getting my two Laboga's (30 watt tube heads) instead which, between them, can handle everything from modern/extreme metal to bluegrass really well and sound ****ing awesome. I used them at our last gig in stereo & they were insane haha. The only regret I have is that their much-touted silent/DI/emulated speaker recording capabilities are actually pretty so-so (too dark/muddy) & require quite a bit of filtering/processing to be usable...so I'm still quite interested in the HD100, mainly for it's (seemingly awesome) DI/recording capabilities.

As far as posting something, I've done plenty here. Audio clips and videos. Mixes and how-to's. Full length songs in some cases.

First he complains that forum members don't play enough, then he complains that they aren't spending time and money on equipment completely unrelated to playing.
I do not own a video camera. I don't care to spend hours mixing and tweaking a recording. On the rare occasion I produce something like that it will be from a phone or tablet recording.
Even in my band I leave the mixing to ears better suited for that activity.
The continual assertions from a social reject that somehow somehow a forum member has no credibility or usefulness because they choose to engage in OTHER activities are pretentious at best.

Not much at all.
What you'd want to do - you'd want to reverse that order.
The tubes need to interact directly with your guitar for max effect, so the tube-feel link/interface needs to be up front.

The only correct answer is to use what works for YOU.
ive played direct to FOH for years. Others bought tube amps with FRFR speakers to get the feel of playing through an amp from the modeler.
Others play through guitar amps.
Personal preference is just that.

I think some amps inspire me to play more, some don't. I found my Mustang III to be a great modeling amp but eventually got bored with it.
I do get to play a lot of different amps before I send them out. And I've got a nice collection going, some of which never get played.
Finding the time to play is more of a challenge these days.
I'm still a tube snob. All the way.
