Unexpected NGD

Was just out looking around and mentioned showed a guy in a pawn shop a pic of the BC Rich VG1 Virgin I painted with a black widow theme.

He asked to see it. I went and got it, and he wanted it in his shop.

Straight across trade for a Vintage VS6 (correct model number?) In MINT condition and he threw in the gig bag and strap.

Never been a fan of SGs, but this one makes great crunch tones with the stock Wilkinson pups.. I may upgrade to Duncans down the road but for now I'm pretty happy. Its my first set-neck guitar. Got the action REAL low with no buzz.

Re: Unexpected NGD

I think that's a great trade as well. The SG looks to be in good shape and well built. Pretty mahogany on the top. Congrats!!!

Re: Unexpected NGD

Oh I definitely think I came out on top. The guy wanted wall candy and liked the paint job.

I never bonded with the guitar itself, and preferred my Dean Mustaine V by a wide margin. And there's no comparison beteeen the BCR and the Vintage when it comes to both quality and tone.

As I said before, of the dozen or more SG style guitars I've tried, including multiple Gibsons, this is the only one I've even remotely liked.

Re: Unexpected NGD

A couple of my friends have both owned the same Vintage SG-type guitar, I wasn't expecting much when I tried it, but I remember being pleasantly surprised by the neck. Didn't get the chance to plug it in.
