VINTAGE MIC SCORE!!!

Re: VINTAGE MIC SCORE!!!

Oh, I wasn't too sure after reading the title. It didnt really specify you werre going to be gigging the Mic in seedy Atlanta clubs. I dont get it, unless you are into the whole "look at me, I'm so vintage" thing? A SM57 or 58 would eat that old mic alive for gigging. Those old mics aren't one of he great things about vintage music, I mean, they are obsolete.

I'm really not trying to be antagonistic here, and I hope you don't see it that way. I was going to post something in your Weber thread, becasue those Weber G12-55 clones aren't really very well regarded, and they are cheap on ebay compared top a G12H Heritage, or even considerably less than the G12H Annv., but thought it would be seen as antagonistc, so I didn't. Some Weber speakers are highly regarded, like my Jensen 50 watt Chicago clone Weber. IMO , however, that G12h is a swing and a miss..badly.

Where to begin...These old 664's actually sound a lot better than you are making out. Truth is I'd bet that in a live bar setting they'll fair as well as a run of the mill SM58. While we're at it I'm betting big money that you couldn't tell the difference between the 2...hell, I doubt if you can tell the difference between an SM58 and a Radio Shack mic...

That said, I was actually looking for a mic that was a bit "older" sounding...not sure that this 664 is it, it actually sounds a lot more clear than I expected.

As for the Weber, where are you getting this info?? There are a lot of folks, bedroom players, weekend warriors and
pro's alike using Britt series Webers including the 1230-55. I'd ask if you've ever tried one but I don't care...I've seen your clips so I know that you aren't much of a player (and thats being kind) and have rather terrible tone so your "opinion" on these speakers, or mics or whatever really don't hold any weight with me.

Your entire post reminds me why I don't pay attention to you...you have no idea what you are talking about and you're a dick to boot.

Thanks for busting into a thread and making a jackass of yourself again. Now, go have another drink.

Of course Iam an alcholholic. I never claimed otherwise. I wasn't trying to be unkind this time. I am guessing you don;t want me to post in your threads. Okay. Done. I honestly value your expertise, so why I walwys find your threads most interesting. You are right thoug, I have been a dick too much!

Anyhow, the speaker you got is okay, BUT ITS NOT ONE OF wEBERS BEST., AS REFLECTED BY THE P[RICE, AND ALSO i'VE SEEN [POOR REVIEWS. tHATS ALL. i'M SOORY, I WONLT WENETER YOUR THREADS AGAIN.

Anyhow, the speaker you got is okay, but it isn't very well received. Price on the market reflects that, and I've seen some mediocre reviews on that speaker. Would you want everything to be sugar coated here on the forum so as not to upset people who have the gear? I hope that Mic works for you. Probably its great for some kind of retro sound, but as good as a Shure SM57? Come now.
