Hi From England
I was looking through historic posts on here & came across a question from a member asking what the AC 30 stood for as a Vox model code or number.
Living not far from the Vox factory in Dartford , Kent in England during the 60's, I knew some of the people who worked there.
The AC30 & the earlier AC15 models from the late 50's were as far as I recall simply named so as they were "Amplifier Combination" models.
So I believe the term AC simply meant Amplifier Combination firstly with AC 15 & then carrying on with the AC 30.

Thanks for the info. I thought it meant "always chimey". I use one in the studio parallel with my Marshall to accentuate my highs. I send the lows through the Marshall for thud.
