Waiting on Parts

Man, sometimes it drives me nuts waiting on parts. Saw that the Strat body I got off eBay is delivered (but I'm not home yet). Tremolo from GFS and a few misc pieces from Allparts are on the way. Last thing to get shipped is the neck. Good thing is the body came with a pickguard so I can at least get that all wired up and ready.

I know Fretfire is doing a Tele. Anybody else doing a partsocaster of sorts?

Re: Waiting on Parts

I know waiting, but not a few days or a week. The reverb pedal I got from Kam is sitting at home in the UK. The magnets I got from Pepe arrived there a day or two back. I won't see either until until the end of October when Mrs of Arabia pays a little visit back there.

It's not all bad though, I got an emergency Red Cross parcel from StewMac last week, and in 3 weeks I'll be in Hong Kong where I know I can raid Tom Lee's store in Tsim Sha Tsui.

I've only got partscaster ideas on the go right now, but I've got a little something else on the workbench at the moment - nearly done. After that, I've got the bits together for assembling that Big Muff circuit CTN posted.

Re: Waiting on Parts

I have a swamp ash Warmoth strat body. It will be a while before i get everything for it.gonna get a maple neck with rosewood board. Dual HBs.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Waiting for the pieces can eat ya up for sure. I just got the new pickguard for a project I've been working on. Hope to show it off tomorrow or Friday. Its interesting.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Last night I got all the electronics wired up. Just need to attach the ground wire to the trem claw when I install that, which is en route right now. Should see it in another day or two. The neck will arrive neck week, then I have to wipe the finish on it.

Re: Waiting on Parts

I'm working on a couple projects slowly. And I do mean SLOWLY. In the works of putting my Bengal'd Focus 1000 back together and my silverburst Kramer Pacer Imperial that I've never put together. On top of that, I'm thinking about doing one of the PVX custom 24 style builds for the Forum pickups. So I've got a few things going on...as usual. I'll be glad when they're done. I'm about GAS'd out.....finally.

Alas, all this cool stuff has been put on hold. Hunting season is fast approaching and I need all new camo, a new climbing tree stand, and some smaller stuff. Maybe around the first of the year I'll get going again. Unless I hit the lottery. Wouldn't that be nice?!

Re: Waiting on Parts

Wait, you had that Bengal Focus together at one point. Why is it apart?

That guitar has went through about 8 different times of being complete and stripped back down to just the body. Every time I get a burr up my ass about gear and sell everything off, I'll sell the neck, Floyd, and pickup, but I've never been able to bring myself to sell the body.

Well, stop doing that. Lol. Next time it is complete, leave it that way no matter what.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Yes it sure sucks. I am waiting for pots, a switch, Pickup mounting rings and machine heads. Its been 2 weeks plus. Order them from 2 diff suppliers. One Supplier had the decency of calling me up telling me there would be a slight delay. Really appreciate that. Good thing I still need to put morel finish coats yet.

Re: Waiting on Parts

I know what you mean. I HATE waiting for parts. GFS seems to take a really long time to ship, but I can't get anything I want for that price so it is worth it.

I ordered the bridge from GFS and it shipped the next day (placed the order on a Sunday evening). I've got everything except the neck. That should be here Wednesday.

Re: Waiting on Parts

I kinda feel your pain. I ordered some stuff to add an adjustable bias control to my Vibrolux Reverb and ordered power tube dampers because the Groove Tubes rattle like crazy. One of my power tubes must have sh1t the bed (I did notice it drifted pretty badly and I had adjusted the balance pot to compensate) because one of my screen resistors blew and now I have to wait for a normal business day to buy some Winged C 6L6s and a new screen resistor. All I want to do is play this amp, I actually have the free time to play today since it's a holiday and I can't do anything about it...argh.

>>>cues up old ZZTOP<<<< Have mercy..... Been waitin on the parts all day......

I NEED to do a parts caster... I have a KILLER old Kramer body that Id love to make into an upside down hockeystick, hair metal weapon.. The body is black and the paint is prolly 7/10. Its got some chips and scuffs, but looks like its been very played. I have always wanted to refinish, cuz Im so @nal retentive about my gear.. But : a) Im worried that my trying to refinish would end up looking twice as bad. B) now Im kinda thinking that I should leave it and then can not have to worry about dinging it up and consider it naturally reliced.. haha

Re: Waiting on Parts

One more day until the neck arrives. I'm hoping to have it completely done by the weekend.

Bloodrose, you need to get that Kramer up and running. Leave the body as-is, it adds character.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Tuesday has been good to me. New Matchbox Twenty album, picked up a matched pair of Winged C 6L6s (which kick Groove Tubes ass - no rattling and a much tighter lowend), replaced the screen resistors and got the Vibrolux rocking again. I'm sure that neck is going to be killer!

Always nice to get a good amp up and running again. I was giddy with excitement when I got my Marshall going again, though I had a tech do it.

The specs of the neck match the one on my Frankenstrat. Only difference is about 20 years of when each was made. I love the Warmoth boatneck contour.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Status: Out for delivery.

Yeah, it'll still get there before I get home.

Re: Waiting on Parts

Hahaha. Rescheduled for tomorrow. Turns out the package was left at a UPS facility and didn't make it on to the truck even though the last scan was out for delivery. It was discovered around lunch time. Oh well, one more day.
