Re: Way Huge Green Rhino vs Ibanez Tube Screamer

The Joyo looks nice for what it is but longevity is important to me with my gear. Not sure Joyo has been around long enough to test that.

I have considered the 805, but I need to find one used first. No one around me stocks it and I would rather test it out and not pay full retail to do so.

If the switch, pots or jacks are the only weak points on the Joyo products, I can easily replace those. It's the surface mount components that will be the real deciding factor. How long before they fail from normal use is the unknown. Most electronics these days, even high quality ones, are not designed to last forever. But even more reputable companies making products known to be built like tanks are using SMC's these days. Time will tell if they last like vintage EHX, MXR and Boss or other companies that produced effects in the 60's or 70's.
