I'll get a friend of mine to do it. He worked at Gibson for years, and then was the manager of the Guild Custom Shop for about 10-12 years until they closed and moved a couple of years ago.

He'll probably be able to figure it out then

...Even though he probably never drilled a single neck hole in all those years!

Ha!! I actually thought the same thing.

Re: Well, I'm Going To Attempt My First Guitar Assembly

Anybody got any suggestions for a good mouse/palm sander or the like?

Re: Well, I'm Going To Attempt My First Guitar Assembly

DeWalt D26451K.
But then I have Amazon Prime, so shipping is free.

Awesome little RO sander.
I love DeWalt stuff. I've never had a problem with anything of theirs. I just wonder if that would be too much for what I'm going to use it for. I really wouldn't be using it all that much.

I hear ya.
There's always your nearest Harbor Freight.

yunno, i gotta cheap old craftsman palm sander that won't die ... it's corded, so thats a pain (and the reason i wish i would die so i could see about a cordless one) but has been bulletproof ... and i can hook it up to a shopvac to kinda sorta help out with the sawdust collection

Any clear finish will look great, but that beauty deserves a little bit of color. For your consideration:

I don't think I ever regretted buying good quality tools. I wish I could get DeWalt stuff at that sort of price in the UK. I usually buy Bosch stuff, but it looks like that's rather more expensive in the US.

I wasn't even thinking when I posted about a sander. I called my brother in law and he has one that he said he'd give me.

If it were mine, I'd do it in ice, man. I mean the palest shade of faded denim over a white wash. Then, do the clear coats and buff them till they shine like a sheet of ice.

If I did that, I would rename it the Gayman.
