What do? Can't decide.

So I had this grand idea to turn my new SSS strat to an HH or HS monster. But this whole gold hardware/matching things with the transparent crimson thing is throwing me off. I don't really like red (on guitars, cars, clothes, anything really. Red is weird.) and I'm having a hard time imagining what will look good and what won't.

So here are some options for hardware and pickguard choices. Thoughts?

the tortoise pg doesn't have enough contrast to the red guitar. BWB looks better in my opinion. Also, don't think the gold looks so good with the red. My choice would be #4.

Silver hardware, black 'guard, white plastics and white or covered pups. Those are serious hotrod colours.

Oh, and a maple 'board would look damn fine too.

Seeing them all side by side, I actually like #3 in my original post the best. I thought all the gold might look a bit too gawdy, but I actually think it looks a bit classy.

If you are going with covers, #4 - Red and Chrome is awesome.

I'd change my mind if you went uncovered though.

All of those would look cooler in HS. The entire guitar is a bit Hank marvin bro hehe you need to metal it up a bit.

Why dont you try something different?. HS would be cool but in the bridge you could put a 7 string humbucker at and angle to the 6 strings. Easy mod to do and it would be totally fun experimenting with it. http://www.mayones.com/en/custom_shop_gallery/setius_dive_bomb_xtrem36_en

What about the top one here with cream/black zebra pups, a cream pickguard, and the chrome hardware?

I like #4 best, but not bright chrome. Even though chrome is reputed to be easier to keep clean and new looking the warmer, more subdued look of nickel would be my choice for hardware finishes on your guitar.
