What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

And what do you need to fill it/them with?

Me? I finally got my Semi Hollow hole patched when I acquired a one of the first three ever made 1973 Les Paul Signature Semi Hollows. That one I totally adore, both the way it plays and sounds , and will never part with.

I actually have three huge holes in my collection. A Gibson SG, a Flying V ( possibly an older Ibanez), and what hurts most is I have no Acoustic. I really need a high end acoustic. Gibson or Martin.

Possibly one more- with all the great PRS' on the board, I've really really got the itch to play one .

I picked up a 90's Les Paul two P-90 guitar under renovation now, that should quell my jonesing for a proper P-90 guitar, at least as a stop gap measure.

EDIT- I forgot I need a Nice Swamp Ash/ Maple Strat.A Big Jazz guitar, and a Classical.

Oops, can this be moved please, it belongs in the guitar room.I am sorry.

At the moment, I'm a completely Gibson-free zone...

I adore that three pickup PRS of yours!
I have to balance out my guitar envy with me need for a Mesa Boogie, and one more vintage Fender amp.

Telecaster. Muy vintage-style.

Between my Epi Dot, Charvel So Cal, and Godin I've got close enough to all the electric sounds that I've ever wanted. It would be kinda cool to have an acoustic 12 string to play around with though.

I have a hole where a non-budget guitar should be.

I don't so much have holes in my bass guitar collection as have the wrong pickups in each of the instruments.

Last week, I finally gave up on the EMG-P in my 78/9 factory fretless Precision and tried a Bartolini 8S via 500k pots. Bingo! The EMG-P may end up in a Yamaha. I am in the process of installing SD Active EQ "switch" series pickups in my Am Std Jazz Bass. The Bartolini donor bass now needs pickups.

Sheesh! Three pickup PRS guitars are two a penny. I converted my USA EGII to HHH almost ten years ago.

Ain't got a tele. Kinda want one. Would mind a PRS custom22 or an LP just for the hell of it. Also a jaz box and possibly a semihollow. And another star build, but this time set neck or neck through.

I need a 3 P90 Tele...

edit: ...a new single 12" amp, and a decent acoustic w/pickup system. Maybe a Takamine or a Yamaha.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I'm needing amplification, quite frankly. I have a humbucker guitar that needs putting together, a single-coil that plays fine...an oddball bass, a p/j bass I need to get out of storage...

Yea, no real amps though. I have an Epi Valve jr that's too loud to play for how good it sounds (that matters!), a Frontman 25g sitting next to it in storage, and I'm borrowing a Vox ad15V from a friend who's pretty much leaving it on indefinite loan. I don't have a real amp at all, and as much as I'd like to solve my dilemma with workarounds like pedals, cheaper modelers or sneaky VST stuff....they don't really fill that gap I guess. I feel like I don't have the "furniture", so I don't have a home for the music.
I've been thinking that a Mesa DC-5 may be the answer. Either that or a Carvin V3m. I dunno if it will happen any time soon. A bass amp wouldn't be unpleasant either.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

The only holes in my collection are in the acoustic guitars .:laugh2:

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

No hollowbodies but as much as I care about that aspect, my Variax covers it well enough. The one thing that's "missing" is a decent bass but since I'm not much of a bass player, it's probably not worth the time for me to find one.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I think I've pretty much got everything covered.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I need a double humbucker solid body guitar, a single P90 guitar, new pickups in everything, and an amp of my own so I dont have to keep borrowing amps from my gf.

For some stupid reason, all I can imagine is a burly dude playing a metal concert with a Hello Kitty amp and looking sad because of it.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I NEED a 335, and something with a Floyd (stratty sort of thing)

Other than that, a real Strat and a Tele.

I will say this however...

I have had Strats and Teles. I sold them because I didn't play them much at all.

I spent time with a 335 recently. Didn't do anything for me that I haven't figured out how to do with a Les Paul.

Don't play whammy madness stuff....

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Pretty much in same boat as the Aceman.
Would be nice to have the room and cash for a little of everything but mostly I stick with a few favorite Hamers.
Gassing a bit for something PRS as it would be nice to have something with a trem again, and the only guitar I have with a neck pick-up is a Hamer Explorer. I'm feeling that most gigs aren't worthy of dinging up the Explorer for the sake of a neck pick-up sound.
