What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I think I've pretty much got everything covered.

However Sir, with all due respect, you do not own an Gibson SG STd. or Custom.Given your propensity to acquire beautiful high end exotic guitars, I would think something like Jonesers stunning El Diablo would be right up your alley.Of course, I may be wrong. I'm only right about most things, not everything.

Between my Epi Dot, Charvel So Cal, and Godin I've got close enough to all the electric sounds that I've ever wanted. It would be kinda cool to have an acoustic 12 string to play around with though.

Righteous.

I'd love a Fender offset guitar, like a mustang, jaguar, or jazzmaster. Better get all 3!

I'd love an SG and a Telecaster and a 335. After that just a superstraty kinda thing then I'm done

Tele, Jazzmaster, 335, and a true P90 guitar. I have a bunch of humbucker-sized P90s, but true P90s I feel are what I really need. I'd love a 335 with P90s as well, not only would it fill holes but I think it'd just have my sound.

I dunno, Jolly has a couple terrific sounding SG Jr.s though doesn't he?

I could use a Jazz box, I am thinking about a Gibson ES137. I also need a new bass my Washburn AB10 is cool but limiting. I thinking the 2014 Project axe for my blog will be a bass. Right now I am thinking p-Bass with a piezo bridge and a Duncan. Any hardware or pickup suggestions from you lowriders is greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid of getting a jazz box. I may like it too much and shift my gear interests again.

I've got a strat, a tele, a Les, a Hamer Artist semi-hollow, and a Dot. I would love a big box hollow, a PRS, and a shred stick. I'm not sure I'd use them that much, though.

I'd also love a 12 string acoustic, and an electric, a Stingray bass, AMS if we're honest, I'd like to build a high gain head.

Another nice electric solid-body with an acoustic bridge.
I have owned 2 Carvins in the past set up that way a Purple flame DC 400 with the fishman set up and an AE185.
I loved the concept but never could use them on stage like I wanted because i could never get a workable mix between the electric tone and the acoustic in the monitors. Now that most Churches I play in use the avioms that is no longer an issue. I was going to grab a Orange Quilt DC 300 with the Fishman set up in the Gotoh Floyd a local shop had but I asked them to hold it for a day and they did not.
In the next year I want to try and pick up another Carvin DC with the a fixed bridge Fishman set up.

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Great topic.
I was sans Gibson from the mid 90's, when I gave a friend my ES-347, until 2011 when I got a Buckethead Les Paul Studio.
I was without a semi-hollowbody from about 2005 when I traded away my Hamer Newport Pro until January 2012 when I got a Hamer Newport Pro Custom.

I still do not have a Telecaster. I do have a couple of guitars with bridge pickups that can sort of get that spanky twangy Tele tone, but I don't have an actual Tele.

Also, there is a guitar that I wanted so bad back in the late 70's when I'd just been playing a couple of years. Then they were discontinued, and about 4 or 5 years ago, they started making them again (with slightly different specs and electronics and for a limited time - I think it's no longer in production again), but I have yet to ever own one: the Gibson RD.

No Tele, pretty much by choice.Same for PRS.
A decent semi-hollow would be cool & I saw an Acoustic Doubleneck(POS) in a pawn shop recently...

Hell,I can't even afford cables/strings & I've got about 3-4 guits still in project mode...
:(

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Semi-hollow thinline (I regret selling my 333)
Guild Starfire III (small-sized hollowbody; ****in' awesome guitars)
F-hole acoustic with floating pickup (shouldn't have sold my Godin 5th Avenue)
Tele with humbuckers
Strat with humbuckers (I only have SSH, which annoys me; I will eventually change that guitar to HH or HSH)
Firebird
'58-style Flying V (translucent green with a white guard and nickel hardware sounds nice)
Bass VI
Jaguar
Duo-Sonic (22.5" scale version)

For some stupid reason, all I can imagine is a burly dude playing a metal concert with a Hello Kitty amp and looking sad because of it.

LOL! I am pretty burly, but I don't really play metal. And the amps I borrow aren't exactly crappy, a Mesa DC-5 and a '68 Bassman. But I still want to have an amp or two that are actually mine, ya know?
