What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

ES335 is on my "bucket-list"........and more Les Pauls....R7 Goldtop, R8, Trad Pro in Pelham Blue, an Amber Standard,.......and a 72' Telecaster type, which I'm in the process of building via Warmoth and American Fender parts...........

I forgot to add that I'd really like to get an acoustic Archtop guitar at some point.

Gibson Les Paul. Maybe a 59. I'm not asking for much.

'50s style Strat
Early '60s style Strat
Late '60s style Strat
'59 style LP
335

Mahogany smaller bodied acoustic

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Definitely a Les Paul.
A good Steel String couldn`t hurt.
Neither could a nice 335
Or a Rickenbacker
Or something with P-90s
Or a Firebird.
Or even a Tele for that matter
and there`s something to be said for PRS....

But everything past that is more or less just because I can at this point. I think as far as tonal variation from guitars goes I have more or less all the bases covered save those listed.

Lets see... 2 LP types, a superstrat, a modded mim, a halfbuilt mij partscaster, an explorer like, two RR style vees, three basses... Hmm

Tuneamatic, check. Stringthru, check. Kahler, check. OFR, check. LoPro Edge, check. Vintage tremolo, check... BASS KAHLER, check!

Five string bass? Seven string guitar? PRS? Tele? SG? Oh....GOOD ACOUSTIC

But, really, if it isnt a project SG, my next buy's most likely going to be a JCM-style amp (likely Laney).

PS i lied....the biggest holes? TREM ARMS: missing a Kahler bass arm, a black OFR arm (silver looks ugly and mismatched), and the only vintage arm I have is - somehow - A LEFTY (!!!)

I hate to type it but I think I could use a few more guitars without Floyds. Of my seven guitars only my Les Paul is Floydless.

Or maybe I should just Floyd the Paul? Nah.

ESP Eclipse OFR? The first gen ones can be had crazy cheap - got mine at the veeeeery Epiphoney price of $420

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

I don't so much have holes in my bass guitar collection as have the wrong pickups in each of the instruments.

Last week, I finally gave up on the EMG-P in my 78/9 factory fretless Precision and tried a Bartolini 8S via 500k pots. Bingo! The EMG-P may end up in a Yamaha. I am in the process of installing SD Active EQ "switch" series pickups in my Am Std Jazz Bass. The Bartolini donor bass now needs pickups.

Sheesh! Three pickup PRS guitars are two a penny. I converted my USA EGII to HHH almost ten years ago.

Whered you score the minitoggle Duncan actives? Been looking for a second set for a while, only ever saw one sold - but it was in the peak of summer, like 120 degrees outside, like 100 miles each way too, and I already had several projects including some home improvement - so I was WAAAY too wiped out to think about going after them

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

My acoustic has this huge hole right in the center of it, drives me nuts that a brand new guitar would have such damage done to it

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Just hope that the huge hole in yo' guitar collection was not caused by this character. :D

Re: What is ( are) the Huge Glaring Hole(s) in your Guitar collection?

Something with P90's, an old school Tele and a small bodied semi hollow. However, if money were no object there would be some specific new guitar days:

Ibanez Artist AR300
Ibanez Artist AM250/ 300
Ibanez RS1000 SL or GM model although I'd prefer the blue SL
Gibson R7 Gold top
Gibson R8 plain top CSB
Gibson R9 Lemonburst ala Metl's
Gibson Pearly Gates
Gibson LP/ SG Custom 3 pup white with Vibrola
Gibson J45
Gibson J200 ala Phil_104's
Fender CS '52 Tele
Fender EJ Strat Rosewood board in sonic blue
Suhr Standard Carve top in Chilli Pepper
Suhr Modern in Bengal burst

I think I'd good with that little lot.... ha ha
