I prefer 24 frets just because I like the "symmetry" of having the second octave on the neck.
...most of my go-to neck pickups have a bridge model that can be put in the neck to decently emulate the sound of a 22 fret neck humbucker.
I played a used import lower end BC Rich Mockingbird the other day just goofing around at a store, I think thats like a 300-400.00 dollar guitar NEW -and I guess it's their lowest end offering and nothing I would ever have a reason to own. But I must say the neck, fretboard, and fret finish were really impressive for that price point -REALLY IMPRESSIVE -The Neck was really shallow and super speedy.
This was embarrassing to type. haha.
Something about the setup on all new BC Rich guitars I've played is *very* impressive. I wanted one of their cheaper line through-neck Mockingbirds, then they apparently discontinued them.
