What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

Re: What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

I have about 40 guitars, and my go-to guitar is usually the Santa Cruz OM.

MIK Dean Hardtail with a Custom bridge/A2P neck set in there. I only got 2 electrics and the other one got me going with my guitaring and gigging (Kramer Explorer) but it was very cheap, and the Dean is a far better quality axe.

Now looking at them big its very obvious it needed a clean when i took those pics!

Re: What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

definitely my 98 american deluxe strat (JB & classic stack + pickups). It's been to every gig since the day my wife bought it and it gets played at least 80% of the time.

What are the pups wired as?

Re: What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

My plaintop '96 LP Standard. It's been to every gig I've played in the last ten years, and was used pretty much exclusively until I acquired my '91 Classic (avatar pic) a couple of years ago. The Classic is a great guitar (and better looking!), but the Standard and I have a special relationship formed from many years rockin' out together. :)

The truth comes out! The mark of a true man is to stand behind his chops - not hide behind a flame top! You Simon, are man of class and distinction.

My workhorse - #1 79 Cherry Sunburst standard. Plaintop!

Re: What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

Ill have to go with my custome Ash white strat.. i love my new les paul but it doesnt come close to my strat. Its aged nicely and feels broken in it almost feel like a part of me when i play with it.. wich started out as a nice white blonde Custom Shop Player Strat and ended up being "frankenstratized".. chisel, router, drill, pickguard, a whole bunch of pickups and bridges have gone trough this thing and its the one i feel most comfortable playing with and the one i can pretty much do whatever i want with.. most of the trouble was to get the tremolo to work without it going out of tune but now it works so im happy :smokin:

Learned so much with it and it was my first guitar.. only regret is its rosewood fingerboard that i picked out for the look but now i love not only the look but also the feel and sound of a maple board lol.. its not so bad and im in the process of finalizing the 7 year project as ive narrowed down everything with lots of trial and error to pretty much what i think will be the perfect setup for it.. its gonna be H-S-S and i cant wait cuz the thing just screams with a bucker in it :headbang:

Re: What is YOUR "workhorse" guitar?

My workhorse, 1994 American Standard Strat.
SSl 1's in mid and neck, Custom wound (by Zhang) in Bridge

Its on its 2nd neck and it was refretted about a year ago....feels like a comfortable old pair of shoes.
