Funny you say that. Last year I was thinking about selling it and then we had 3 outdoor gigs and I was glad I had it. The logos are gone, it's got casters, top used as a workbench (some drill holes in it) and the grill is painted black, but it works. One speaker got a rip on it a couple years ago when I first tried to sell it (stupid accident by me) but that's fixed with Ted Weber's TP and glue trick (thanks to Rich_S for sharing that one). It sounds great with many different amps.

That's the same setup Destroying Angel has. He likes it, and I remember you saying you dug the Governors.

I dig Governors too. It sounded crap at a low volume in my 1x12 closed back extension cab. Then I brought it to the practice and BAM!

I like it too. I'm not a fan of the Man O Wars on their own - a bit too scooped-sounding IMO, but combined with the assertive midrange character of the Governors the tone from the cab balances out really well.

The Governors are cool speakers. A lot like the V30s they're meant to emulate but with a slightly more subdued mid-spike, which I prefer.

If you listen to the Devils of Belgrade stuff, almost all of the electric tones on both sides are an in-phase 50/50 blend of both speakers from that cab.

I've been using the G12H30 and V30 mix in my 4x12 for quite awhile now. I don't think I will ever change it again now, I like it that much.

I only have one 4x12 and don't ever use it! I sold the others and the 2x12's years ago and went almost completely combo amp...I have one head and the one cab and it's loaded with a matched of 4 1971 purple HiWatt Fane speakers.

I've sold all my 4x12s, but when I had them it was: Sunn cab w/a hodgepodge of spkrs, one being a Mesa Blk Shadow, two Altecs, and a CTS, a Marshall cab w/Greenbacks, and a Carvin Legacy cab w/V30s.

All were great cabs, and each was suited to different amps that I owned.

If I were to purchase another 4x12, it would be w/four4 Hellatone 30s from Avatar, or four Eminence Red Coat Pvt Jacks.

Two marshall 1960b cabinets with Vintage 30's (Hellatones actually) and G12T-75's in an X pattern. I've tried Greenbacks, G12H30's and CL-80's as well and I've been the happiest with the combination I'm using now.......

I am looking at this cab for my 1st 4x12.
Well, it's not really a 4x12, it's a "2x12 + 1x15"

I have a Peavey XXL 4x12 slant. I've never checked, so I'm assuming it's got whatever speakers come stock in those. Supposedly a "Blue Marvel" or something.

I have 2 4 12" cabs. One is a Marshal 1960 AX with greenbacks, the other is a Peavey with Sheffield 1290's in it. I really don't use the Peavey too much. The Marshall is the bomb! Those Greenbacks are awesome.

I've got V30s and GH1230s in my Avatar 4x12. Its versatile enough for any style but it really does bring the house down when pushed by high gain.

G12K100's for me.

Love 'em. They don't quite have the thump of the swamp thangs in my 2X12, but they fill out the high mids very nicely.
