I'll just say "Rock" because it encompases such a wide area of the musical landscape.
There's so many sub-genres and cross-breeds in Rock the label doesn't seem to me to be as constricting as people make it out to be.

R&B and funk in the 60s, then rock in the late 60s/early 70s, then funk in the mid 70s, and back to rock in the late 70s/early to mid 80s. I quit gigging then and mostly just messed around for a long time. I started playing the dobro about 5 or so years ago, some bluesgrass, but mostly blues and R&R. Now I'm back where I started playing R&B, but I approach it from more or less a rock angle. The other guitar player in our band is coming at it from more of a jazz persective, it's working out really well between us.

For the most part I consider the style of music I play as "Heavy Rock". I never really intentionally sit down and try and write any particular style of music. I have songs that range in the styles of Creed, STP, Alice In Chains, Black Label Society, Doyle Bramhall, Black Crowes, blah blah blah. I just write whatever comes out of me......but I like my "Heavy Rock" stuff more.
