Where you do stand on wrapping strings with locking tuners?

Just my opinion, Keisel and Paul Reed Smith are using locking tuners with Floyds because it's good for the profit margin. It's surely not because they found it necessary to enhance performance. Redundancy is for airplanes and so on. Not really needed on guitars.

More likely they just buy the same tuners in bulk for every guitar they sell same with Suhr. Locking tuners just make string changes faster, easier and more consitant no matter what and have been using them so long it's just normal now. To chase a rabbit here the unique Goto built lockers Washburn used in the mid 90's while Grover Jackson was running the US shop are my favorites. Drop the string through the bridge pull it tight through the tuner and tighten to pitch. Never moves again and just bend and clip at the post. They will spoil you when you get used to them.

These are the clients I lecture on buying fingernail clippers or a wire cutter. I had one guy who was astounded when he saw me use a string winder! "Get one for a buck at the front counter on your wait out, okay?".

I don't think that was a factor. I think when they added a Floyd to an existing model, they just kept the stock tuners.
Wouldn't make sense to switch to non-locking - at that price point, the difference in cost is insignificant.
And even though they serve no purpose as far as tuning stability goes, they do make string changes easier.

A guitar I had a Floyd installed on, through a miscommunication, they put grover locking rotomatics on when they were intended for a completely different guitar and I nearly switched them back out a few times due to redundancy but the time I save stringing it keeps making me reconsider.

If you want to cringe, look at how some people tie on nylon strings. I have seen sailor's knots and things akin to shoelace knots on the bridges.

Don't you know? Nylon Strings should be tied with a fisherman's not on acoustic machine heads.
