Re: which color for my cabronita build?

no Grenade I inquired about that myself. I dont think a normal p90 soapbar will fit without having to take some off the sides. I am considering contacting the custom shop to see if i can get a pearly gates wound in a filtertron setting so it woul drop in there. Just dont know how expensive that would be.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

why thank you grenade. fender's white trans finish is a thought as well. I know I dont wanna go blonde or butterscotch with this one. However a transparent white may look good. I have also considered a trans cherry red.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

That's a real purdy git-tar you got there. I once refinished a Hagstrom bass in a similar purple (Duplicolor) so I voted as such. Any of the 3 would look great. Enjoy!

Copper Red with no guard.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

im leaning strongly in the copper red direction. my music room is purple but my fav color is by far dark red.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

I voted Trans White (w/ a white guard)....but all three colors would look cool.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

+1 for Dakota Red.

IMO, the LCT is a bold guitar design and demands to be presented in bold colours. A quick browse of the Warmoth gallery will illustrate what looks good and what looks worthy but dull. (e.g. Sunburst with the stunted pickguard!)

If you want to get seriously bold, how about a Satch chrome finish? :naughty:

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

I still say trans white, with either no pickguard or a black pickguard! White guitars with black pickguards look cool as hell. If you don't want a butterscotch/blonde/yellow just don't use nitro for the clear. I'd use a very thin coat of polyurethane and buff it with 000 then 0000 steel wool to make it a satin feel.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

i been practicing with the Poly and I dont care for it much. It takes a bit of time for it to dry and it acquires alot of debris in the finish. Nitro on the other hand dries to the touhch very quickly.

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

I've wanted to paint a guitar in that purple for a while, but on this guitar, I would use arctic white (or Dakota red).

The first thing that came to mind was your beautiful green Esquire. If it were mine, I'd probably copy what you did. I hate to see nice ash grain go to waste with an opaque finish.

Thanks. I love that green guitar.

I realized that the OP was talking about white blonde, not arctic white after I wrote that, but my vote is still with the white.

What about the mix of tru-oil/gunstock wax? Feels like natural wood, and gives just as much protection as nitro. But if you want nitro, go for it. :)

Re: which color for my cabronita build?

Does Tru-Oil always look that yellow, or is it just the warm lighting in the pix?
