I had a break in the weather today so I was able to get the sanding sealer on and sanded down. Im loving the grain on this thing. its making me really reconsider a trans finish.

So, you sealed the neck with shellac before the Tru-Oil?
The body is looking good. When you put the clear sealer on and see the "wet" wood grain for the first time, it is always tempting to go with a clear finish. I don't think it would look that great on a Cabronita, though.

the white fender trans looks pretty good I think. i wouldnt leave it natural. Yes I sealed the neck with amber shellac first.

I know Grenade, but the only see thru that would truly make me happy is this...and i dont know that im good enough to pull it off.

Nonsense. It takes a real man to walk onstage with a Hello Kitty graphic.
Seriously, though, the LCT has a goodly dollop of Gretsch about its sound. You might as well incorporate some of the Gretsch visuals too. Car colours, metal flake, even Desert Orange. Have fun with it.

so far purple is in the lead but only by 2 or 3 votes. I personally think I am going with the Copper Red Mica and a nice pearl white guard. I also contacted MJ about maybe doing a Pearly Gates wind on a filtertron ...the price isnt alot different from ordering a tv jones so we shall see.

Overlook my inablity to play and my micky mouse sleep pants LOL. my left wrist was crushed in an accident a few years back and this rain sometimes doesnt agree with me and my wanting to play. Anywho, I put the cabronita together today to see how it sounds. I cant paint it anytime soon cause our weather is sucking majoryly here. So in the meantime (til spring prolly) Im going to enjoy her in her current state.

I decided upon this color which is called toreador red metallic. The test run I didnt use a primer which gave it somewhat of a translucent look which I like. It has metallic flakes but I cant get my camera to pick upon on it with my crappy lighting. I think with the clear coat on there it deepened the color nicely. almost looks like a candy apple red.

thanks bluesbend. Now if the snow would just stop....Id get to painting my guitar. Id do it in my shed but then it would catch some snow as I walked back to the house to let it hand and dry.
