Which color pickguard poll

Black guitars with black pickguards look goofy. Need something new.

I like the creme in these photos, but the mint green one is a real option. It just doesn't photograph well.

Blue and green pearl is difficult, because depending on material it can go from extremely toyish to decent.

Keeping the existing pickup layout or are you adding that single coil?

I voted black 3 ply as I think it looks best. 2nd place would go to black pearl though.

I voted CREAM, but NOT that Cream - CREAM PEARL. It'll match the binding.

Otherwise I agree with the favourite Black Pearl.

White would work for a Strat, but not an SG!

I would love to have cream pearl.

Any pointers to somebody that has cream pearl that doesn't look cheap and crappy? I'm unsatisfied with the pearl that these canadian guys on ebay offer.

I voted black pearl... It'll match your gutiar and the hard ware and pups, etc...

I'm happy with my WD Music Cream pearl pickguard!

I don't think it looks cheap. Plain white would though!

Actually maybe this pic will help. I've a guard lying around, so put it over my strat with white guard!

In natural light it's almost white, but the flash shows it as definately off-white/cream

That cream one on the V looks pretty good, that would probably work. Besides that I don't see much else looking great on the SG.

The problem with all of them other than the plain black is that they either clash with the inlays or the binding on the neck. I'm still unsure about cream even, as it seems to clash with the inlays a bit.

EDIT: I have the same guitar myself, and I've always thought a rosewood pickguard wouldn't look too bad on it, though I'm not a huge fan of wood pickguards.

Haha, hella old thread bump.

uOpt, what did you end up doing? I'm thinking maybe the creme for my black SG, especially since I have 2 double creams to go in it. I gotta get a new pickguard anyway.
