Re: Which univibe for a hendrix Sound ?
Almost any high quality vibe clone will get you there.
The Micro Vib is a great sounding unit IMO but it is limited to the chorus tone and has no exp ped out.
The Dunlop is hit or miss in my experience and most of them seem to require a true bypass looper to keep from killing your bypass signal.
I use a Mini Deja Vibe and and very happy with it and as a general rule I dislike Fulltone gear.
I went a few weeks ago to get a Mini Deja Vibe 2 so I'd have the exp pedal but I have to confess...having the off/on operation on the pedal messed me up...I oculd liklely get used to it but I decided to just leave it alone and stick with my MDV.
FWIW, the MDV2 sounded just as good as my MDV but was built into an exp pedal!
If you have to have the pedal the MDV2 is a fine option and real hard to beat.
The Mojo Vibe is an option and while I found the tone of the Mojo Vibe to be VERY similar to the MDV I use I found it harder to dial in.
The Aqua Vibe from Foxrox is an option and has a jack for an Exp Ped but there is a wait list (about 2 years) and you have to build the expression pedal as Dave Fox no longer offers one and there are no stock expression pedals on the market that work correctly.
There is the KR Mega Vibe, it has an exp pedal jack but is also has a wait list...I'd tell you how long of a wait list but I don't know and Kevin Randall won't return emails, I do know tha it's over 2 years at this point.
There is the MJM 60's VIbe, great unit, well made but I am almost positive it doesn't have an exp jack...
I could go on and on about various vibe pedals...bottom line is this IMO, if you have to have the exp pedal option the Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe 2 or the Deja Vibe 2 is the way to go.
