Who is using Behringer V-Ampire...

...or the V-Amp2 or V-Amp Pro?

Would you mind share your thoughts, experiences, settings, patches?

I got this one a couple of months ago and I'm still trying to dial in a patch that cut through in the mix...

Any advice would be most welcome!

Yours truly,

I fought with my V-Amp Pro for a long while until I just gave up and unloaded it. I found it sounded way too dark. I was playing Les Pauls alot at that time, so that may of had something to do with it.

It was a nice unit but it just acrued too many "gotchas" to make it worth it for me to keep it.

I've got a V-Amp 2, that I use with my Legacy. I also go to the Behringer website, where there is a link where you can download patches. I have a USB-MIDI cable to connect into my laptop, and the free software that gives you greater control over the patches. For the money I think it's great.

i don't own a V Amp, but i know a local act that uses them..... both guitarists use the rack version ones... just 2 guitarists and pre-recorded backing tracks and they sound great! they use all their own sound gear and lights so they have controll over everything from the mixer on stage with them..

i asked the one guitarist about the Vamp and he said it is just like any other modeler, it takes some serious tweeking to dial in the tones

Re: Who is using Behringer V-Ampire...

I've had a V-Amp2 for quite awhile, and I really like it. It does take awhile to get a patch sounding good, and just like a real amp, I like it better with pedals in front.

I should also mention that I don't really care how close the models sound to the real thing. What I do care about is that if I want a metal/rock/country/jazz/pop/whatever tone, I've got a huge variety of amp and cabinet sounds (plus effects) to choose from.

As far as the effects go, the reverb is ok, the delay is pretty good, and the auto wah is really nice.

Re: Who is using Behringer V-Ampire...

I had two V-Amp 2s (first one got stolen); I liked them a lot, but when I changed up my home recording set-up to include the Line 6 Toneport, it became mostly superfluos (despite having a couple of great sounds that I could never quite replicate in Gearbox), so I sold it. I did recently buy a Bass V-Amp, mostly for use with a keyboard in an audio theater company I'm working with, and have found that it actually has some very nice bass options above and beyond the stock Gearbox ones.
