Yeah, I've never built a guitar or even tried...but I do buy plenty of cheap guitars that I like to mod & I've enlarged/added a lot of holes to them lol. I use a hand tool that looks like that (but has a handle ...like a screwdriver) ...it works perfectly.

My cheapo V copy had, stock smaller holes for the Volume, tone and Switch. In fact very small holes for the switch as it had 2 mini toggle switches. Instead of one single switch. I used a simple reamer... and that is very cheap.

I've always drilled using a drill press, and never had any problems.

Buuuuuuuut.........I'll listen to Zerberus, because I know he's right and much more experience. He is right on while possible to do "correctly" with a drill press, it is more risky and not nearly as efficient. Time to get a reamer. "If you aren't going to do the job right, don't do it at all".

A rat tail file is also good enough. You do have more control over the job. A drill press IMO is asking for trouble. I might be exaggerating a bit, but its like using a Soldering Gun for pickups. Use the right tolls for the job and you will get the job done well.

Oh and on a side note I have high regards for Zerb... For a while in between he had stopped posting out here but, he has always given great advice.
