hey guys, new here, had a question for you.

I have the JB/Jazz combo in my Ibanez SZ and am installing 2 push/pulls for bridge & neck coil taps.. the 3-way switch is a quad-pole double throw which i'm not 100% on how to wire, but this is the schematic i made based on how it is wired currently:

Will this work? I'm sure it's obvious what i want out of my re-wire plan, but just to be sure:

pos. 1: bridge hum
pos. 2: neck & bridge hum
pos. 3: neck hum

the controls will be:
vol 1 (neck, w/ push/pull)
vol 2 (neck, w/ push/pull)
master tone

Looks good, but . . . see the two wires I've highlighted in blue? Omit them. The top one does nothing and is harmless. The bottom one will kill all your output. You're shorting the output to ground.

Other than that, nice job.

Thanks for the tip.. I couldn't find the proper scheme so I this is just a combination of three different ones: two from the SD site and the other one from how it is currently wired.

OK, I can't seem to get anywhere.. Would anyone be up for helping me out and drawing up an idiot-proof wiring diagram for me? it's a 2 hum, 2 vol, 1 tone, 4PDT 3-way with push/pull volumes pots for respective coil splitting...

Re: wiring advice: i need your help!!

Except for those two blue lines, your first diagram was good. I'm not sure what problem you're having. I'd be happy to draw you up a diagram, but it would be what you already have.

Can you describe whats not working right?

Re: wiring advice: i need your help!!

I figured it out after an hour of troubleshooting..

I was only getting about 50% output, the tone pot wasn't working and the coil splits weren't working..

I went back and studied some other diagrams and decided I had wired the tone pot wrong which was why it wasn't functioning. It went from:

To:

I also found that the bare wire on my JB had been broken, so I repaired that as well and also had left a ground connection out which I fixed.

Now everything works like it's supposed to!
