Looks like someone made a copy of Jimmy Page's famed Les Paul, beats paying the $15k they cost from Gibson. I have no problem with it, kinda like SRV's #1 copies. To each his own.

heck, put the missing knob back on it and i'd play it...would i pay to have it done...nope, i don't think so...i can relic a guitar myself if i wanted to. although i tend to like relic strats and teles more than relic LPs for some reason. although zakk wylde's relic beer cap covered rebel is one kick ass guitar IMO!

It looks as if it's been burned. What a shame, I can see a beautiful top underneath that damage.

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

Are you sure it's a Gibson? Not an Epiphone? The finnish doesn't look like a high quality one.

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

that's probably because it's been sanded down...that's just sick...save that stuff for fender's :yell: :yell: :yell: :smack:

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

that looks so unrealistic, have any of you seen a guitar that looks like that? The worn spots look like wet cardboard! It also doesn't look anything like Jimmy's les paul, wear wise. IMO

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

just because you beat the crap out of a guitar, doesn't mean you end up with Instant Mojo ;)

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

One thing for sure, that looks like Jolly's backyard.... ;)

Relic'ing is stupid. Artificially wearing out a new guitar is like putting a fake blower on the hood of your car, or stuffing a f*cking sock down your pants.

"More money than brains..."

Dents and dings on guitars are like war wunds and scars. Each one tells a story about being a musician and spending the time playing out. Every ding and dent means a dozen gigs or so where nothing happened to the guitar. In a way the instruments damage insinuates a certain level of experience and thusly credibility garnered from their travels and dedication to playing music.

But now apparently it means an idiot with a credit card.

Whacking a paint job with a ahmmer does not infuse mojo.

Dinging a guitar on a door frame when you're 9 days into a 28 day tour and have the stories to prove it does.

It looks like someone left their Paul out in the rain.

exactly, it seems that every idiot with money, wants to relic there guitar just for the "mojo" factor, but seriously i love the look of a beat up guitar, but if you want the mojo, its gotta be done over time from real damage, i seen a quote on somewheres i cant remember where it said "Remember your dents just piss me off, mine give it character" or something along those lines.

DAMAGE SHOULD BE DONE BY GIGS NOT YOUR ******* TOOLS.

Re: Would you pay someone to this? LP Guys Warning!! Not for the faint of heart!

What a waste of a rad guitar!! Or shall I say what "USED" to be a rad guitar!!!!....... :yell:  :blackeye: It's one thing for it to naturally get warn from bein played, but damn, why would you wanna do something like that on purpose? They just had to thrash a Gibby didn't they? It couldn't be a cheap LP Copy..... It looks ****in hidious now...... :yell:  :cussing:
