Yet another SSH Strat PUP question.

I have decided on purchasing an SSH Am DLX Fat Strat. I want to maintain the most "Stratty" tone in the Neck and Mid Positions, but still have a "Balsy" PUP in the bridge.
I was thinkin of Some Ant II Surfers for the neck and mid, so my question is, what bridge PUP would work best? I don't want to overpower the single coils so...
I was kinda thinking of either the 59 Trembucker, or possibly a C-5.
Any help would be great.
Thanks again,
Loudriver

Re: Yet another SSH Strat PUP question.

I asked Seymour this question years ago and he told me: vintage type single coils (SSL-1 or Antiquity Surfer) & Jazz Neck used as a bridge pickup!

I think the 59 Trembucker would be a great choice with the Surfers.

Lew,
Can the Jazz Neck in the bridge provide nice distorted tones?

Never took Seymour's advice and tried it! I went for a 59 Trembucker instead.

I think I like your advice,
Do you think a Custom or Custom-5 would be too hot?
Also would you recommend spliting the HB to for position 4 br+mid?

I just threw a PATB 1 in the bridge of my Strat. I have a feeling it's going to be in there for a LONG time.

I do...but others don't! :laugh2: I think humbuckers much hotter than the 59B tend to overpower vintage output neck & middle Strat pickups.

I do like the split sounds of hotter humbuckers like the Custom, C5 or JB better than the split sounds of the '59.

But overall, I still like the 59TB best.

I'd go ahead and split it....what the heck. The split 59 is still useful for the middle/bridge combination, tho pretty thin when used all by itself.
