With the matching Tone Tubby loaded 2x12 it's a killer blues/blues rock amp.

I use a real cheap peavey bass amp for my guitar, yes it sounds odd but when ever my tube amp is not working it does well.

From my experience, my Eko K-100. better (to me) than the Crates in its class and much cheaper. Don't actually know, but a smokey might be better (after hearing it driving a cab...).

If you want a 120wtts and a bunch of effects, the Behringer V-Tone GMX1200H head and Behringer BG412V 4X12 slant cabinet can be all yours for $ 400.00 bucks, yep $ 199.99 ea. at Music123.com. Thats what I bought and couldent be happier.

I'm surprised that noone has mentioned silverface Champs. Old Gibsons are often a steal as well.
