I thought coil cables cut highs?
I have never heard that before... I don't know why they would...
I've heard that, too. I guess it's because of the extra inductance of the coils, but I honestly don't know how much inductance you add with a coiled cable. It would be fun to model and calculate it, though.
I do know that coiled cables are fun and convenient. That can be scientifically proven.
I have so many different brands of cables I cannot remember the names right now. I do know I have a Fender tweed looking cable. They all sound the same to me.
Whichever one works.
I thought coil cables cut highs?
vintage-style coiled cables cut highs
the cheaper, white plastic, $20 Fender Koil Kords are made to that spec...so you can use vintage-style gear with vintage-style cables and have correct tone. Using Monster Rock cables to plug your Les Paul with Antiquities into a Fender amp from the 60's doesn't sound right y'know? :smokin:
the more expensive, black plastic, $40 Fender Koil Kords have some kind of special wrap or shielding that keeps the highs present, plus they have a lifelong replacement warranty.![]()
