Your most 80's looking guitar

It's funny how when you mention an 80s guitar, most people (myself included) think of super strats with Floyds, graphic guitars, etc... However, I also think that one of the most iconic guitars of the 80s has got to be without a doubt the natural maple Peavey T60. Those guitars were in just about every single guitar store that I went in during the 80s. I bet I've played a hundred of them. They were everywhere, but I think the only people that I ever saw using them were country artists.

Les Paul's were also very popular all throughout the 80's Rock and Metal scene as well. I can't think of 80's guitars without thinking of an LP Custom or Standard.

I have a Baretta II like in the photo, but in pieces and cannibalized the JBJ for my Charvel.

I have a couple of Baretta I models, which might be my favourite guitar design of all time. I'll see if I can get some photos up.

What was the price of the Barettas back then? Smart to come with some kind of strap locks stock from the factory. That idea should have caught on.

Speaking of Barettas... Might be a knockoff but a good guitar in its own right. Pretty versatile and dynamic with a moderate output pup.

I had a HH version of that same guitar with an Edge tremolo, should have never gotten rid of it. I still have my Plum version. What an awesome sounding and playing guitar. Here is a clip of the guitar.

Yes, the whole 400 and 500 series for that year were great - all the pu options one could want, oiled necks, good colours. I was looking for a pink 410 but settled for black as it was a husk for $90 :D. Hoping to get a 530WP one day, maybe one of my fav Ibanez colours.

There's the purply beast, I love the slight bursted edges and you still have the original trem arm! I have the same model but completely blacked out. I did a few mods-to-taste (changed neck pu, treble bleeds, blocked trem and removed string lock) and it's also a good 'un. Neck is a tad beefier than the 410.

Memory too fuzzy to recall.

I bought the only lefty Baretta II hanging on the wall along with the only lefty Ferrington.

And yep, the Baretta II came stock with Schaller straplocks.

Awesome, so that’s what the Injectors are going in.

What nut width did you go with?

1 and 11/16ths . . . nut width is one that I'm really picky about. A narrow feel up around the cowboy chords bugs me. My acoustic and all my guitars have the same nut width.

Roadstars are TOTALLY 80's guitars. You see them every wear and all kinds of levels. Rock, Pop, Alt, Shredders....every genre played them.

Sweet ride Bruce!

According to usinflationcalculator.com, a Baretta would be just under 2600$ when adjusted for inflation, then. And yes, Kramers whole shtick really was to sell guitars that came with the modifications that people at the time would put in their guitars anyway.

I’m thinking of trying a 1.650” with Wolfgang next.

I wish you could download files to RP/3D print each of the profiles at each nut width.

And those are just list prices. I remember seeing Baretta’s at a shop for $799/$899 street price depending on the color. Metallic colors were a little more expensive.

Yep, this thread needs more Steinberger.

Non recessed Floyd: check. HSS: check. Gold: check. Literally from the 80s so can't be more legit :D.

Forgot I have a PL1770. :p It's tucked behind the stack-o-amps. Just needs a couple single coils to finish the parts list. Not holding my breath on finding the phase switch though.
