The Golden Boy said:I've gotten so lucky at "finding" 6v6s... Years ago my favorite store had a "private stash" of NOS tubes, and I was in good with the owner. Two NOS RCA 6v6s for $12. I just recently got a matched pair of NOS Sylvanias from my soon to be brother in law for nothing. He also gave me new rectifier tube- I don't know what made more of a difference.

I was going to get Brimars for my PR , But $80 for a matched pair? OUCH!:smack: Anybody try the new Tung-sol 6V6's ? We could use a good 6V6 shootout for our vault.Scott_F said:+1 on the Brimars. I love those tubes.

Three months in and one of the 6L6's was leaking in oxygen and one of the 12AX7's was SO microphonic that it was making noise IN THE TREMOLO CIRCUT :smack: . So I can't speak for their 6V6's, but the tech at the music store I work at hates them and feels that thet're just the "in" thing right now.
I replaced the 6L6's with SED =C='s and i'm a million times happier.
