Artec pickups

They are decent quality pickups and electronics. Artec makes the Kent Armstrong licensed pickups. They also make the Sky branded OEMs. GFS, Guitarheads, and Dragonfire are also Artec pickups. If you look at the bottom of the bobbins of a GFS humbucker it has an Artec logo. It's possible to trace the specifications of many bargain brand pickups back to Artec models.

They do have some offerings that you can not get from common sets
Like the half rails I got
Had low wind neck with an A2 magnet
Matched with a 16k bridge with an A5 magnet
Which is what I do with all my a5 sets I get from Fleor
Just costs $50 as opposed to $25
I don't see much difference in the material that mine are made from

Yes, Artec made/makes OEM pickups for many brands, AFAIK and a bit like Cort factories made/make guitars under other names - Epiphone, etc.
And I agree, Artec products are decent to good pickups.
Chinese PU's can be even less expensive for a comparable quality but their physical reality doesn't always match their depiction (a luthier for whom I've worked did order a sample of OEM humbuckers meant to be loaded with A2 magnets : what came were ceramic loaded ones, under bad covers whose strong eddy currents were softening the sound to fake the tone of AlNiCo)...
To come back to Artec: in their old catalog, they were showing the resonant peaks of their pickups according to the capacitive load of the guitar cable (or wireless emitter patch cable) used... I wish they kept doing that and inspired the same thing to other brands: pretty useful IMO for players with a theoretical background about passive pickups...

Summary: Neck hb has certain clarity for a neck humbucker. If you need clarity, it is fantastic. The bridge? It's not bad but for me its a bit of bright.
That's what i think of two models of Fleor. Moreover they are pretty good pickups for modding.
And for the Artec, they are, as far as i know, the biggest pickup maker. Plus, i was told that they produce "Duncan Designed" pickups.

I have a set of Fleor Strat pickups and they stayed true to using period correct materials. I have the staggered A5 magnet version. From the limited time I have used them they are bright, loud, and transparent. They are not as warm and gritty as an SSL-2. They have a lot of single coil spank but they are a bit stiff when distorted.

I have a pair of Fleor alnico P90s and they are pretty decent,
I had several Artec in the form of GFS pickups and they were pretty good, I tried dozen of different mods with them (mixing coils, swapping magnet, etc...) without being too worried about the results since they were very cheap...
