I think it's a good idea. Not really my thing personally, but it fills a market niche for a group of people who have been pining for such an offering from Gibson for a long time.

dood it's like, $3,500 though. you could get something similar(equally good to boot) for thousands less.

Yeah. There's nothing wrong with innovations. I just happen to thinka that a sunburst Les Paul doesn't get any better with a locking vibrato in it.

I have to clap sarcastically every time Gibson steps one inch outside of their "build em the same and jack up the price" business plan.
I am with you, I prefer regular Les Pauls, but it's good for them to come out with something a little different every 30 years or so

I love all the traditional Gibson models - hence my Historic LP Junior that's coming today - but I also think the LP Axcess and most of the GOTM guitars they've put out are refreshingly cool and different.

Cause thats my main problem with Les Pauls but this is the first production guitar i know that has the heel sculpted...

I gotta say I like this better than the robot guitars. I actually think this is not a bad addition to the line, which will reach some players that would want something like this. It is better than the reverse V, the holy V, or the robots....but it still doesn't bring my faith back in gibson. Pass.

Yup. It makes me laugh when that happens. God forbid there's technical advances and changes in guitar designs.
One feature I like on the Schon LP is he reversed the stagger of the controls and spaced them out further. The one right below the bridge pickup is the master volume with the master tone below it.

The heel and tummy cut are cool. I hate the Floyd. If they wanted to put a really cool trem on an LP, they should have gone with something really forward-thinking like a Skyway.

I'd have a Bigsby on there instead...no dive bombing for me; I would only use it for a bit of waver.
