Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

congrats! i know you will love it as much as i love mine. the piezo sounds awesome through a PA (add a little reverb & compression).

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

Actually & regrettably, this one want have a piezo...........but I'll live! :)

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

doh! the sound of the SD's in there is enough to keep anyone busy. I wonder how it would sound with the CC instead of the JB though...

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

Funny you mention that....someone over at HC did the very same thing & in the review said the CC just jump started it. The JB was good but the CC gave it a new dimension.

I'll get it Monday & play around with it for a while...see what's what...& I'll definitely post pics & a review!!!

BTW...I've sent a handful of e-mails to BMG & they've been answerred very quickly!!!

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

WoW...welcome to the brian moore club terry!!!

that sounds like a sweet guitar...i've always wondered what a CC would sound like in the bridge...you say it has a jazz neck instead of an A2P...i love the A2P...i can't imagine anything sounding better in the neck of mine...!?

of course, full review and pics will be in order as soon as it's home safe and sound!!!

NEW STUFF ROCKS!!! :headbang:

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

Got it yesterday...it was slowed down by the snow storms in Ohio......

Pretty friggin' nice guitar!!! I can really get used to the body shape/style...very comfortable standing & sitting. Sweet mahogany body, nice natural binding on the maple top, nice maple neck w/rosewood fretboard....not too fat/not too thin, I seem to recall playing an Ernie Ball one time that had a neck like this. Someone else said it's similar to a Wolfgang.

I'm not to hot on the color, which is black w/a silver sparkle. Looks like someone threw silver sparkles in the air, took the wet, freshly painted guitar & swung it around in the cloud. Not my cup o' tea, certainly not the "paint job" one would associate with a Custom guitar.

The Jazz in the neck is very sweet & smooth...my first time using a Jazz & I'm liking it both split & straight out. The JB in the bridge, on the other hand, I find a little harsh. I've gotta play it more to check out all the little nuances, but I'll probably swap it out for a Custom Custom, like earlier recommended.

All in all, very nice guitar & a very worthy trade for a MIM Strat !!!

Once I figure out the new digital camera we got for Christmas, I'll get some pics up.

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

sweet...looking forward to it...!

hey...if you really fall in love with the guitar and it's playability...you can always have it refinished if you never grow to like the finish that's already on it!?

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

My thoughts exactly Hoss....maybe just a regular black top will do.

It really is a beautiful design....very comfortable!

I've tried a CC in my Moore, it was nice...lacked the edge I like in a pickup though. I also tried a Custom 5 that sounded REALLY nice but lacked mids. I also went with a Dimarzio Steve Morse bridge that was HORRIBLE!!!

The Moore now has Lindy Fralin humbuckers a 9K bridge and 7.5K neck. It is perfect.

Re: Brian Moore Custom Shop C55.....

i tend to like chunkier sounds- the JB is fine for now though, but the real star for me is the Alnico Pro 2 in the neck.
