Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

Well, the reason why I interfere is because you might scare some people from trying the JB, because you state your opinions like they are facts. What if those persons would have loved the JB, but because of your statements got scared of purchasing it?

ESP not when you consider that the price doubles the second the pickups are shipped outside the US.

That's right, whinos. A 70$ SD costs between 130 and 215 bucks here!!!

Buy it from the states then.

Then when they finally got around to trying one they would know it isnt all that great instead of beliving the hype!!!! I am trying to kill the hype!!!!! You are trying to hype everyone up like all JB users have!!!

I trust my ears, not the hype!!!!

From someone claiming something else to be retarded, I would have expected a more constructive post :laugh2:

It was kind of cheap wasnt it!!!!!!!:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Though I know you like the JB, you are still my boy Sune!!!!!!:beerchug:

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

It's alright man, I guess our opinions just differ and it's up to people to decide what they wanna believe or what pickups they want to try out. They can listen to clips and then decide for themselves, sound says more than a 1000 words anyway.

And you're still the man odie, together with ErikH :beerchug: :laugh2:
You two have been the biggest help for me regarding my music gear so far.

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

i note in some polls here that the JB seemed to be the choice of many..so is it a silent majority thing, they're lying..or the most vocal here make it sound like the JB is junk? not that i've ever had one or from what i read here, intend to..but hey, if it's good enough for jeff beck, it can't be that bad...if only there was a "bb king" sd pup!

Doesn't pay off. With all the import tax and **** you'll pay when the package enters through custom, it'll be at least as expensive in the end, plus, you'll have to wait quite a while for it to come, and even after that, you'll have to pay a techie to install 'em (unless you're willing to do that yourself)

He's IN and got all 9 fingers up:wave:

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

Okay, first of all yes the JB really is a horrible pickup:chairshot . We are not lying. Second, I have a new qustion: I took the rediculously horrible paintjob off (well, not all of it ,but I'm working on that) and discovered that the schecter A-1 has a really nice mahogany body. So, the question is, should I save myself work, and money by just doing more sanding, and varnishing it for a wood body, or should I re-paint it black? By the way, Sune:chairfall.

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

everybody in the forum nowadays seem to not favour high output duncans anymore BUT the Custom. I for one, hate the Custom and not much of a JB fan anymore.

hate the JB? DD too "boxy" sounding? Dimebucker sounding a bit hollow? too bright, too thin, too dry sounding yadda-yadda-yadda... :baby:

Nah, that pickup sucks bigtime also!!!!! Its probally like other Dimarzio's, you must have a basswood body for it to sound good!!!!

I've got the TZ in a mahogany with maple cap guitar that works for me. But how about in a solid mahogoany to give my other guitar a more tame classic rock type sound (say Zep, AC/DC, Kiss from the 70's). CC or C5 maybe?

The C5, Custom, and the 59 will all do this! You said more tame so the 59 might be the best bet for 70's era stuff. The C5 and the Custom will get you there also!

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

I must have learned something from my time here, I got two choices that were close!:) Think I'm settled on Jazz in the neck, or did I just flunk the next test?:smack:

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

The jazz in the neck is hard to beat!!! Its a great choice!!!!

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

i use distortion, does all sorts of rock for me,... turn the gain down a little bit for classic and youve got yourself tone like angus young

Re: Dimebucker, invader, or something else?

Yesh, I currently have a distoriton in the bridge of my LP (soon to be replaced with an Invader, though), and while its a bi to "canny" sounding for most of my music (thrash metal, stoner rock), I discovered its truly great side earlier this week, as I was playing along to Deep purple's 'Highway Star'
