Nah, that pickup sucks bigtime also!!!!! Its probally like other Dimarzio's, you must have a basswood body for it to sound good!!!!

Dimarzio's are great pickups, just like Duncans and you don't have to have basswood to make them sound great. Although, I haven't found Duncans that I like as much as I do with Dimarzio's. the Tone Zone is a great pickup.... not very versatile, but the rock tones deliver. the notes are very clear, they dont smear together, the harmonics scream and the rhythm tones are beefy. i actually prefer the TZ over the Custom. the Custom is great, but it does not work for me, although its mids are perfect for me, it is too bright on the higher strings and too boomy on the lower strings. heck, id take the JB over a Custom anyday!

Yuh, uh, my guitar was built to take two SD humbuckers... so will the Dimarzios fit, and will they work with my mahogany body and maple neck? Maybe, i'll just stick with my SH-1 '59 and either a custom 5 or a 'vader.

if you are gonna get a Dimarzio, get it F-spaced. i saw a used Schecter (C model, with a stoptail: tune-o-matic style) in a guitar shop in my area, with a Super Distortion in the bridge and an EMG 81 in the neck (??!?!?). i believe the SD was regular spaced because the polepieces in the higher strings didn't align with the strings at all.

also, my Reed with a stoptail has an F-spaced Evo in the bridge and it fits like a glove.

I should have worded that different. I like a few Dimarzio's actually!!! I like the Breed and the Super Distortion for some occasions!!! There may be one or 2 more I like but, I cant think of them right now!!
