Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

The recent direction of this thread has got me thinking - would people be more interested in the zebro if we ditched the Z idea and just asked for a hum cancelling p90 in a humbucker route? After all, that was the original purpose of the idea, and if the Z part is turning people off, we should ask how crucial to the end result it really is.

Thank you bro. This is what i wanted to say. But did not. The whole idea is a p90 hum cancelling tone . I might be wrong but I am getting the feeling many of us are more interested in designing the pickup rather then then letting the custom shop do it. Let us tell them the TONe that we want. That is how the Brobucker was done.

How much email contact is there, anyway, DarkMatter?

I had regular pings, including just recently, that the split-style pickup is still in play anyway, since April 2014.

Does all this mean SD maybe plans to give us a run with two pickups? I haven't heard anything on that detail.

^ I still have not heard from them. How recent was your last email from them? And could you be more specific about what they have told you? I just sent Scott a PM so hopefully he can help get things moving.

You know we should put the public efforts on hold and get everybody actually involved on a nice CC list in an email.

I mean it really looks like maybe a run with two pickups is in the cards. That would so make good for all the trouble. But right now I am utterly confused. And I have a suspicion that the same applies to everybody else.

The draw in this poll is actually very nice icing on the confusion cake :D

Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

This seems to have gone unnoticed in another thread about trouble contacting SD:

Seymour Duncan here. I hate excuses. (however we are having some issues with our systems, sorry). Please contact me direct ar X1002 or boomer@. Thanks much for your patience!

Make no mistake, though, not getting a response via email has nothing at all to do with us.

Wait what? You say that like SD owes us something... Sorry but I dont see a few unanswered emails as being much trouble as far as the user group pickup goes.

Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

I'm just gonna buy me a bluesbucker and call it good.

Jeebus...

Exactly. They almost perfectly nail the P90 tone (moreso than any humbucker-sized "P90" I've ever tried, and I've tried a ****-ton), and they do it all while looking bone stock - complete sleepers. In the world of humbucker-sized P90's, there's no way to improve on them IMO.

No I mean the forum trouble.

Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

I voted for the hybrid set, but would be very happy with a Z90 set. So I would take my vote back, if I could.

Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

It's going to be one of these two or nothing, unless the company overrides in some way. I'm still fond of the idea of having a demo video with both and then revoting. Right now, we will have to remain in a holding pattern till we get some company feedback.

I am totally behind the prototype then demo route.

As a second option, we could just say go with the Zebro, and use all the '59/C neck interest to make a "petition" to add the pickup to their standard catalog next year (giving us Forumites first grab at a small preliminary run before then). S.D. might decide we are onto something, or maybe not. But we could try. The Zebro is unlikely to be added to the regular line of pickups, so maybe we "hybrid" voters can begrudgingly concede that it is better suited as a "weirdo" forum pickup. But as part of that concession, can we get the Zebro folks to help us get the '59/C neck made?

Re: Forum design vote #6 (Choose wisely)

Would a zebro bridge and a hybrid neck as a set be something that would work?
