I'd gotta say a tremolo for all strats for me. Just add 5 springs and keep it against the body, then use it whenever you desire. The tremolo bar for me just adds another plain of creativity and flavor I can add to some solos, as long as its not floating its not a pain in the arse.

I'm kinda new here too.... well, not really, but kinda!

Anyway, I'll take a Floyd Rose anyday. I don't want to limit myself sonically, it's like having an extra way to express yourself and get some sounds that without it you can't. So Floyd Rose all the way.

It would suck not having any hardtail guitars but i HAVE to have a trem equipped guitar sometimes, there a level of expression that for me just cant be achieved with anything else when im in a certain mood

I'm a hardtail guy. I never find too much use for a trem really and I like the tuning stability and sound of a hardtail.

On the other hand, I've heard the prs trems are really stable- so if I were shopping for one of those(which I won't be for a looong time) I'd go for the trem.

But for life- hardtails all the way.

I'm not completely dependant on a vibrato bridge, but I like to have it there when I need it.

Well, whenever I go into a guitar shop I always enjoy the tele's more than the strats, but that's probably because I've only played a handful of properly set up Strat in a guitar shop in my entire guitar playing life. That, and I'm mostly an acoustic guy.

For me, either hardtail or with the trem set tight against the body. I can't stand a trem that flops around when I bend strings. Sucks tone right out of the guitar.

Hardtail. I'm trying to attain a great sounding, yet very simple rig, and a trem would just confuse me. Plus I don't know how to apply it properly in songs.

I am a hardtail guy. I do have a bad habit of using the top horn as my vibrato. I know I know stress cracks. I am trying to stop.

Well i like trem units and lots of them, but i want a trem unit that sound like a hardtail... but i still want to do dvie bombs... its pretty hard to find something like it...

Isnt that sort of like those non floating bridges that rotate instead? I dont think they use springs or anything, the strings keep them in equilibrium, you just thread them in like a hard tail and rotate them with the bar.

I may not use the trem that much, and lately haven't used it at all, but the option is always there and sometimes I take the bar out and have a little trippy fun I enjoy tremolo, particularly in slow blues and jazz like settings, so I think I'd stick with it

Hardtail, there's no effert to change strings and fender style trems just suck too much to even be considered. I like hardtails mainly because whenever I feel like changing thickness of my strings it doesn't go bananas.

i have a bunch of guitars and only one is set up with the trem able to do any whammy action and i cant remember the last time i used it

I enjoy both, but if forced to choose I would go with trem. I'd rather have one I don't use ALL the time then be denied the option.

I'm a hardtail man. I don't use tremolo for the same reason I don't use a wah. I barely have enough coordination to pick and fret at the same time. I can't add another plane of movement into the mix.

+1. Why over complicate things? TOM/STP bridges are by far my favorite setup.

i luuuurv my trem!
i have a superdy doooper zr on my ibanez which kinda sits still even when a string breaks, i can retune it and change guages without recalobration of any major kind, plus i play alot of satch and with out a trem whats the point in livng.

with proper use it can add so many new dimentions to vibrato and bends.
i literaly couldnt live without it
