I like how these polls never allot for someone who might do more than one thing on guitar. . . . . .

I'll take a TOM/STP please...

+1 I want to get a strat in the future and when I do, I'm planning on unscrewing the bar.

In this case, when it´s a future purchase, why not grab a hardtail right away? Or are you one of the guys that likes the reverb from the springs (Annoys the hell out of me, thank god for foam rubber...but that´s just me) ;)

i dont have anything that i use with a trem right now, but if i had to take one guitar id take trem cuz i could always make it not move or watever.

Over the years I've had quite a few guitars with Trems. Always say I need one, gonna learn all the cool tricks, etc. Whenever I get one though I rarely use it. I prefer the Gary Moore/Jeff Beck subtle bar work...to give a "vocal" quality to phrasing...

But I just cannot "do" trems. The feel of a Floyd or Strat bridge (even a hardtail strat) is just totally unnatural to me.. It's too flat and I cannot get the right picking hand position. Prolly cos my first real guitar was an Explorer w/ TOM.

Nowadays I just go for Gibsons and other TOM bridges. My Jackson has a TOM/string through, and thats the reason I bought it. Tough to find a decent bolt-on with a TOM.
