Looks like a slightly melted custom. Or the intern slipped with the bandsaw and they didn't want to waste the wood.
Summing up this thread.....Theodore equals Fail.
It seriously is hideous,! Almost as ugly.. as the... As the ....... As the Tele.....
NASHVILLE, TN (March 19, 2024) As it celebrates 130 years of music history, Gibson, the iconic global instrument brand, has shaped sound across generations and genres of music for over a century, becoming one of the most relevant, played, and loved music brands around the world. Developed from original drawings discovered in the Gibson Archives, the Gibson Theodore Standard is based on a guitar design sketched in 1957 and was only previously available as a limited edition Gibson Custom model that quickly sold out in 2022 as part of the Gibson Archive Collection. Today, 67 years later, Gibson is proud to introduce the Theodore Standard, now available as a global wide release at authorized Gibson dealers and via www.gibson.com.
It's back...I do not hate it as much in cherry or black but I am still not buying one. I am almost digging the cherry.

Not for 2 grand, but I think the black one is kind of cool. I like the switch location. I don't mind the jack on the front either.
I think it's because it has a stoptail and a tune-o rather than a wraparound, so it looks like there's less empty space behind the bridge. The original run had individual controls. So they made a Theodore Jr.? This one almost looks shorter scale than the first one (that or the body is bigger now?)
Not me I have been GASing for a Les Paul double-cut for a while

Just noticed that this thread is a year old.
I have to say that this guitar is soooo ugly that it hurts my head to look at it.
Yes, of course that is my opinion. But even if you look at it objectively (not considering esthetics at all), from a functional perspective, that guitar just doesn't make it.
