How about a navy blue faceplate and gold telecaster knobs?
HOLY MARY MOTHER OF JESUS! i can see it now. you, my friend, are a visionary. where do you come up with this stuff? i love it!

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

I'm not sure I can visualize nave going with the wine too well. Maybe so, though. I have little to no taste.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

Cream plate with maroon knobs?? I think it would be different and still classic.

I started to respond, then my better half arrived. She has better taste than me.

Black faceplate, gold knobs.

Personally, I like the tele-style knobs that color.

i think it would give it a very dark, but cool, look. i was thinking not so much navy but more like lake placid blue on the fender color chart :laugh2:. with black flat top knobs.

+1; I think this color scheme would really suit this amp. I don't think that chicken head knobs are the answer in this scenerio...

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

I ordered the plates tonight from my local guy. Black with gold lettering. For the knobs..... i'm looking at those brass/gold knobs that Gibson uses on their old amps.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

BTW, what are the royalties for designing color schemes for your amps?;);)

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

It's too late, but my vote goes to black faceplate, white lettering, cream chickenheads. Lots of contrast and obvious pointers on the knobs helps when you're trying to change settings on a dark stage.

black panels/gold lettering/oxblood chkn head knobs

+1,000,000 :fing2:

Either cream or oxblood knobs would look stunning. I'm already impressed with the cabinet just by looking at it :32:

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

Black w/cream chicken heads, like BBent's pic. I think the gold would be a bit too busy. I'm a totally conservative guy that wants a classy looking amp in my house. FWIW-I think you're color scheme for the extention cab in your website is the best-black w/white piping. It looks very stately and 100% serious business.

A comment on the Lightning pic in your website, if I may. I would look at replacing the stained wood picture as it looks very much like a home brew (I could not do better myself, though.)

I'll bet that once you drop a Lightning chassis in this maroon/black enclosure and repost that as the pic in the amp description, you'd have more interest in that amp.

Watching with interest,
Dave

Really nice cab! Just make sure they go to 11. :chairfall

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

Just a thought, not for this amp, but down the road... I think you should start using emerald green as your default faceplate, just to match the name of the company. It seems that you are getting to that critical mass where you want to start carving your own identity for the amps, so people can tell at a quick glance. Would be nice to have some continuity across the line.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

I like the suggestion, but green is one of those funny colors. It is very polarizing. I wanted this cab to have a dark green front panel, but the stuff my guy had was more grey than green. It was dull. The wine looked way better to me.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

Copper faceplate with black flat top tele knobs. Black text above the knobs.

Would be a killer look, but not quite as classy as I think you're wanting.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

How about some kind of tortoise shell faceplate? Is that possible? Then go with cream chickenhead knobs.

Re: Help me pick a color.... serious help requested

My first thought was to agree with the suggestion of keeping one color.

My second thought was "it hasn't hurt Ibanez guitar sales."

As long as the logo is consistent, I don't think color is that critical.
