That's what I suggested in the second part of my post. Get a used '78 LPC for $2000, change all the stuff, and you'll get a guitar that is CLOSER to John Sykes personal guitar than the Custom Shop overpriced so-called replica. It will be made in 1978, not 2006, just like his own. It will have that old wood, the CS replica won't. And if you feel bad about buying used, just remember that Sykes' guitar was a used one as well. He didn't get it new. He got it USED. Just read the story here if you don't know:

$6000 is alot of money man....especially to spend on just "one" guitar. Why not just buy a couple of black '78 Les Paul Customs instead, and change the pickup mounting rings, pickguard and toggle switch plate to chrome? At least you'll have two then and it'll only run you about $4500 instead...lol.
