Ahahah Sabotage.
Ahahah Sabotage.
we play 95% all out hell bent metal, so clean is not a real big deal and i use the middle postion of the 3 way toggle when i DO play clean?Imp said:not if you plan to play anything cleani loved the 81s hi-gain stuff, but its not really what i play. i traded mine out.
stick with passive stuff if you want versatility, IMO...

I'll say this about EMG... they're a good company and they're run by good guys. I know a bunch of them from the owner (Rob Turner) on down. I've shared many a beer with them over the years and we've even worked through a few hiccups and came out respectful colleagues.
As for this situation, I have to say it's hard being a pickup tech. My guess is that answering e-mails is just one of Rick's many jobs. And everyone has their good days and bad days. I don't want to make excuses for him, but I don't want to hang him for his mistake.
If one of our techs wrote an e-mail with sarcasm like "You don't want much, do you?" we'd counsel him or her to cut it out in the future. But then again, I'm biased that we have the best techs in the biz -- thanks Scott, Alex, Billy & Kellie!
Anyway, just remember to not flame the competition.
Peace.

OK here we go, i have a self made duncan distortion that at this time i LOVE but will the 81 be even more of that type of thing which is very aggressive, tight, clear?

I'm trying to find a passive humbucker that'll be as tight, percussive, and clear sounding under high gain as an 81......

I tweaked the knobs on the amp a bit, and tossed my metalzone in front (tweaked a bunch as well) and am back on the loving side of EMGs :laugh2:
