So your wife gets to decide how many guitars you own? My wife has no say in this matter. I'm a musician and have been since the age of 9. I was before I met her and will be till the day I die. This is a sort of real life dilemma for me right now I have seven and they are spread out all over the house mostly in corners and my wife is really pushing me to reduce the inventory. It's not really as bad as I can only have one but she thinks that three is a reasonable number.
To answer my own question I am thinking the James Tyler Variax and see if it is possible to swap out the pickups.
Thank you, I'm already in the process of putting most of them in cases and storing the hold up is to decide which to keep out because I really do cycle through all of them. I'm probably setting myself up to add another guitar to the collection but WTH, what is a good mid-price range Charvel that you would recommend, I have never had one?So your wife gets to decide how many guitars you own? Now if your junking up the house with your guitars then my friend you need to find a closet to store some of them in or look in the mirror and sell off the ones you really don't need and keep the ones that you actually play.
In my case I have 7 guitars and I honestly don't play them all. I have a George Lynch Signature Tiger that he played and signed for me which I rarely ever play. He is my idol and I keep that guitar for that reason alone. It's not my favorite by a long shot. I got it in 2008 and probably played it 50 times or less. I could easily sell that guitar but I hold on to it because George played it and I would love to put it in a glass case and display it one day.
I have a 2006 Jackson SL3 which it use to be my main guitar. I rarely ever play that anymore since I purchased my 2013 Charvel.
I purchased 2 more Charvels since then and I play all 3 of them most of the time but favor my 2016 White Hard Tail San Dimas. I honestly could get by with just 3 guitars and be totally cool. I desire to own all of the guitars I find interesting but need is not there. I could live really if i had to with just my Hard Tail Charvel. I don't even need the Floyd Rose which is on 3 of my other guitars and honestly I don't use it hardly never unless I'm playing around.
Your wife might have a point in clutter and especially if you don't actively play them all or need them for writing. But I feel your wife shouldn't be allowed to tell you how many you should have. Thats like you telling her how many pairs of shoes or hand bags she should own. Thats not your decision and either is owning guitars hers. But my friend you need to put them out of her sight so this doesn't continue to be an issue as nothing worse then fighting over stupid ****.
I'd like to know how you make out as many of us go threw this argument one way or another with our wives. We sometimes do things that we probably shouldn't and they seem to see that. The way they present it might not make sense but usually they have a point.
The secret is to find a woman with core values are very similar to your own. It cut down remarkably on stress.

I have been campaigning for that for years but to no avail.
Tell her "one woman, many guitars"
Unless you had a Microcube with rechargeable batteries and a solar recharger. On a desert island, it'd have to be an acoustic... no electricity for amps to be able to differentiate the Strat sound from a Paul sound! [emoji12]
