If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

I think this Tyler Burning Water 2k looks amazing and I'd love to purchase one in the future:

I'd pop in my favorite combo: WCR SR/ WCR SR/ WCR Darkburst (or Genesis Mr. Browney), put in a blend pot, and be on my way :32:

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

Tbh, I still haven't played one but I'd really like one day to own either a Kelly or Rhoads Jackson... They just look so cool. That'd be a first for me also, as I only own strat types, and generally gravitate towards them only..

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

probably a zion guitar

i forgot the model, but it's the strat with the wilkinson and stuff

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

i'd get another custom shop B.C Rich. came to like the beast of the ironbird a lot but don#t have the money anymore.

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

a tom anderson, HSS. every picture i see of them working in guitar mags makes me want one..

oh yea, they play nice too :D

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

this is a bit of a stretch and a "hope i like it" lol since i never played one but i have bad GAS for a blackmachine B2 with duncans of course...they are each hand built with a handful of options but i'd get a clone to this one...

looks somehow weird but coud be funny although it would probably be way to lightweight for my taste

Remember to get your hands on an USA model, play one and you're hooked! (just like me :newangel: )

When I first intended to buy an expensive amp, I went to this guy who owned several Jacksons (which is rare here in Holland, because we don't really have any good Jackson dealers), and I went home with MAJOR gas for a KE2, that particular one was owned by Jack Frost as well :saeek: .

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

If it had to be an electric I'd probably go for a really nice Gibson ES-335 from the Gibson Historic Division.

But I'd what I'd really love is a Collings Acoustic Guitar! One like the Martin OOO-HD28 only made by Collings.

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

As long as it played good and felt just right I suppose I'd be happy with any Strat-like HSS guitar.

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

I'm thinking of parting with one or two of my lesser guitars and stepping up to either...

A Fender Masterbuilt Showmaster HSS with flame tobacco top, but it's gotta be one with a plastic nut, not the LSR metal nut, which I hate.

or, a Gibson ES-336....the more compact version of a ES-335

I swore myself off gear aquisitions, so the only way I'll do it is by parting with something.

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

MY Fender American Stratocaster, no questions asked.

Re: If you could own one modern day guitar, what would it be?

I still think the Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry Sunburst is the epitome of Rock and Roll guitar.

ok, can't find the article on the blackmachine on the web..

ratings are:

build quality 4/5
playability 4/5
sound 5/5
value for money 4/5

PROS- Excellent tonal clarity, gorgeous neck, lightweight + comfy
CONS- finish marks easily

brief snippets...
'it's hard to beleive how twangy, punchy and tele-like this guitar is. Both the attack and response are excellent'

I don't know if they make 'em without an LSR. That might need to be a mod.

Although I'd have a real hard time justifying the extra cost of the Showmaster when an AM DLX FMT HSS actually offers more for less. The AM DLX goes for about $1200 while the Showmaster is over $1800. The AM DLX offers S-1 switch, ebony fretboard, and the awesome SCN pickups. The Showmaster doesn't. The Showmaster has a slightly more contoured body but it's not a $600+ contour IMO.

I already own it.......my PRS Custom. Now, if you said ANY guitar, I'd probably have to choose a '58 - '59 Les Paul Junior. A '59 'Burst would great as an investment, but I wouldn't be able to gig it. Gimme the Jr.
