Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

Re: Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

Late '70s hot vintage humbucker? What are we talking about? JB like? More '78 like? Something different, like a tarback or T-top?

when I think of a late 70s hot vintage humbucker, I think of The JB Model.

I would say very JB like. The nice thing is you push the push/pull back down and you have a sweet vintage tone. The neck pickup is amazing. It goes from a cool vintage vibe to a chime-like crystal tone. Very clear and transparent with great string separation. I would say what impressed me most playing these pickup is the response. It is lightning quick and unbelievably controllable. They pickups complement your picking dynamics very well.

Re: Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

I've bought 3 pickups in the past 24 hours and none of them of Fishman. It's like they don't want my $.

Re: Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

We've got to figure out what the blue wire does first.

Re: Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

I'm very intrigued. Can't wait for your review. And i'm with Darth I want a H-S-H set where the middle single isn't underpowered but I won't hold my breath.

Re: Incoming New Pickup Day (Fishman Fluence)

It rounds off the top end a little, like a guitar cable would. Since these are low impedance the cable length is pretty much null.

Many people don't like "guitar cable". Expensive cables are usually attempting to sound like they aren't there. In other words if you could play with a 3' cord, you'd probably think it sounded better than a 30' cord, right? So that little blue wire is for all the guys who think a longer cable sounds sweeter and prefer it. I'd wire it up stock first, then add the HF tilt if you want. You could also hook it up to a switch, though it's pretty subtle.

HUH? I am still trying to figure it out, even with those instructions from Fishman.

PS: I heard you helped develop these pups - Frank is that rumor true?
