Seriously though, I love the body style and if they cut all the gimmicky bull**** out of it, made it in bursts and solid colors, and cut the price back I would totally be all over that guitar.

I don't need a guitar that doubles as my smart-phone and computer. Does anybody know where the USB connector is on the Firebird X? Or does it just connect via Wi-Fi?

I would prefer the tradional Firebird Reverse. I just think that looks...well lame!

Short answer: no.

It's already been unanimously ridiculed, and it's not even out yet.

More power to ya if you want it and are going to buy one, but I am guessing there are a ton of people out there who are somewhere between "You gotta be kidding me" and "uh, yeah --- no thanks :laughing: "

I have always loved the tone, feel and playability of Firebirds. They are awesome guitars. The primary negative was they were headstock heavy and uncomfortable to play, but that could be remedied by moving the strap button & using a good quality leather strap. The Reverse Firebirds are just killer guitars. Listen to some early Johnny Winter if you really want to hear what they sound like. The Progressive Blues experiment is a killer blues album & he plays his but off on that record!

I don't see how anyone could see that as a good idea. I hope its a tremendous flop.

So do I. For as much promotion and money they've put into this, I hope they finally get what's coming to them. Yes, my anger with Gibson is mostly because I think they have been greedy and overpricing their guitars.
