Large or Ex-large Fretboard Side Dots

In that case, you just need to add light to the fretboard:

: D

See, I can work with lit up side dots, but it doesn't make sense on the front of the fingerboard, unless it is a flashy decoration. I am not staring at the front when I play.

But a low-voltage chargeable and not-too-bright system on the side of the neck is a good idea. Something like one charge that lasts 16 hours or something...it can be only as bright as the just-charged glow-in-the-dark dots.

i dont look at the front of the neck when i play either, hell, sometimes i dont even look at the side dots. the glowing fretboard lights look cool to an audience, but wouldnt do much for me. illuminated side dots might be cool. im sure a small usb rechargeable battery system could work, but it would be a heck of a lot easier to put in as its being built, rather than retrofit

Yeah, it would have to be built in. But I would think that with LEDs these days, even something like a 2032 button battery would last a long time. Just have a dimmer trimpot and a small push switch on the back.

Well that is because when you are playing standing up you really can't see the fretboard. Fret markers are not for you, they are for the person trying to follow you.

I have a client who insists that he needs big fret markers on the front of the fingerboard. He is functionally blind.

I've seen several people who sit and hold the guitar at an angle so they can see the fretboard markers and find the strings better. For the most part, these types of players don't have the same needs as someone who might need to see on a dark stage.

Imagine this except reading glasses...just no. Like anyone coming to see this gives a$#!t who Al DiMeola is? Just no...

Hey! I met Steve Dallas one time at a sweet little bar in North Phoenix.... Pretty cool dude!

I actually ordered some stick on dots. We'll see how they work first before I get out a drill.

My Parker has huge side markers and no fretboard inlays. My bassist calls it my FU guitar. As in FU good luck following me. He says the guitar sounds amazing but hates when I pick it up.

Tell him he needs to not rely on you to learn 'in the moment' how the songs are supposed to go. :9:

So I ordered `some luminescent stickers and gave them a test run on that White Caddy last night.

TOTAL game changer! Played with uber-confidence. That doesn't mean I played all the right notes, but it does mean I played where I intended to! No Jazz half-steps into/out of playing!

Stage wasn't a total night fest, but as always, wearing sunglasses etc. I think they worked pretty well.
