That's exactly it, if they've done it before, then there's precedent to do it again.
For-profit enterprises are not known for their moral imperative. If there is a corner to be cut, you should assume they've tried to cut it. The fact that my MIA Tele had a third pickup route was itself a cut corner, the question is not if they cut corners, but to what degree they do so.
I think I read the same article drex did
Said there was a fire in the factory in Mexico
And some of the standards were made in America for a short period of time in the 90's
And that all of the painting was in Mexico
But they probably have changed much of that since the article was written
I don't believe any of the MIA. bodies were ever cut shaped or routed in Mexico
But some fine standing when prepping for paint may have happened at some point across the border
