monster rock cable: yes or not ?

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

I like Fender cables, the big puffy braided ones. And the Platinum.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

Never used them, always stuck with Mogami and Planet Waves myself, great quality that do the job impeccably.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

planet waves american stage was not so good
with more than 91 pF/m
but good geo tip
cordial silent or adam hall rolling stones were better

Capacitance isn't everything in a cable. The thing to remember is that the lower the capacitance, the brighter the cable will be. Whether or not that's a problem depends on the amp and the tone you're chasing. Personally I'd put more emphasis on things like build quality, durability, and possibly warranty.

TL;DR: Capacitance isn't the be all end all of cables. If it sounds good, it is good.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

when you read websites
you can find in every descriptions that capacitance is the most important thing to keep the tone and the trebles

other things are important: double shield, oxygen free but
the most important thing for me is not to have a dark sound because of a cable

so you said the capacitance is not important but important
funny lol

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

Monster makes decent cables that they build up with a lot of hype, there are better companies to give your money to.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

their monster rock cables are beautiful but the price is so high
i don't want to try these ones

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

i have the monster rock guitar cables and they are fantastic. zero noise and super high quality.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

i have chosen the sommer cable llx (very low capacitance
but i wanted to try the last ibanez cable
amphenol

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

I have never plugged in a cable with a sound I couldn't 'correct' with amp eq. Durability is important to me. The 'tangle factor' is important to me. A cable I can fix is important to me. I've never decided on a cable due to capacitance. There are too many other ways to alter the tone in the chain.

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

not only capacitance
i prefer 85 pF/m or less because i made some tests
planet waves american stage =out

but anti corrosion too
oxygen free
double shielded
that what we read for the good cables
and other things

Re: monster rock cable: yes or not ?

of course
if you want a bright tone= high capacitance
i would say less than 90pF/m

No. Bright tone=Low Capacitance. Too much bright not everyone likes.

The higher the capacitance, the more darker the sound. Too much dark not everyone likes.

Less than 90pF is what you like.

Besides cable, the plugs themselves have their own capacitance value. Check the datasheets available on websites of Neutrik, Switchcraft or whichever brand of plugs included with the cable. The seller webites that you read from don't always mention this, you need to know/understand that. If you can't find the data, measure using a meter.

Edit: Buy this for 60pF at 15m http://zerocapcable.com/?page_id=231

Indeed, proper coiling of cables prolong the life of them indefinitely. Makes me mad when seeing people bunch them up in a messy loop or wrap them round their elbow in a spiral, instead of the "over and under alternating loop" format.

interesting but it's exactly the same thing i have said :))

when you quote someone to say exactly the same thing

what for ?
read again

nobody knows what's the best so we talk to talk :)

In the part he quoted you said the opposite
If you said exactly the same in another post
Then you are talking in circles

Let him post if he wants to
No one is stopping you

Yes, we are talking. I corrected a mistake you made in the post i quoted of yours. But i also gave you a link for what you want & should also be aware of that so far you haven't talked about - the capacitance of the plugs used in the cable assembly.

You want the best tone, use a ZeroCap cable, its the lowest you can get for whatever length you need, the only capacitance it has is because of the plugs used.
