NAD..Finally

No pictures just yet, but I got the Avatar 18w with 6v6's and holy **** I have never been happier.

First off, I hated playing my Dark Terror cuz it had really buzzy mids and highs.

I also had a Blackstar 60w 2x12 combo and hated it for the same reason.

The Avatar has a really nice creamy breakup; it sounds so damn good. No buzz, no ****ty drive, really nice and sensitive to picking, and ringing harmonics. Sounds killer and huge with a tube screamer up front.

I also play with a TC Hall of Fame, and the Digitech Time Bender for delay and other effects, and it's all very clear.

There is no loop, but it doesn't need one.

At practice I play it thru a closed 2x12 (V30, G12H30) and I recently bought a closed 2x10 with Greenbacks.

Bought the 2x10 for gigging and just more cut during practice.

Anyways, seriously this is the sound I have been searching for and don't plan on getting another amp anytime soon, unless it's for high gain.

Will post pictures and recordings soon!

Re: NAD..Finally

I'd love to check one of those out. Congrats! Any
familiar band/player tones come to mind when you plug in?

In no particular order, AC/DC crunch is easy, Witchcraft, Mastodon esque stuff with a tube screamer, really heavy and clear crunchy southern rock style stuff, with my neck split and tubescreamer on I can fake a SRV sound. Hendrix also (im not saying im playing like him by any means).

Singles sound AMAZING thru this sucker. I mainly play my Destroyer these days. I have a Liquifire in the neck and an Invader in the bridge; both wired to split.

Played my friends walnut strat with SSL-5's. ****ing killer.

I feel if you have a quality instrument, you can get most classic sounds easily and put a silly grin on your face.

Great amp for heavy blues. Having a hot bridge pickup sounds sick thru this bad boy. Natural driving amp.

Can also get some heavy fuzz sounds like Truckfighters, with the right tone setting and something upfront.

Guitar straight into amp is so easy to dial in a solid tone.

Plus all the knobs go to 11...

Will try within the next week to record.

Re: NAD..Finally

That sounds great. I'd love to hear it because that same amp has intrigued me for a while. The price is attractive too.
